IFA Berlin has always been a stage for the technologies shaping the future of consumer entertainment, and this year was no exception. Across a packed week of customer meetings, partner conversations, media engagements and product demonstrations, Xperi showcased how its ecosystem of technologies is helping consumers discover, enjoy and engage with entertainment in smarter, more seamless ways.

Simplifying a more complex entertainment landscape

Entertainment has never offered more choice, but for consumers, more choice often means more complexity. Navigating streaming services, live television, sports programming, FAST channels and on-demand content can be overwhelming.

Throughout IFA, our demonstrations focused on a simple idea: helping people spend less time searching and more time watching. TiVo OS continues to bring fragmented content experiences together through a unified, content-first approach centered on discovery, personalization and viewer choice.

Advancing AI-powered content discovery

One of the most talked-about demonstrations at the show was Agent TiVo, our upcoming AI-powered discovery experience designed to transform how viewers interact with entertainment. Agent TiVo brought home an IFA Innovation Award.

Rather than relying on traditional navigation and keyword searches, Agent TiVo introduces a more natural, conversational way to discover content. Consumers can simply describe what they want to watch and receive personalized recommendations and guidance. The result is a discovery experience that is faster, more intuitive and more engaging.

As AI continues to reshape consumer expectations across industries, we believe the future of television discovery will be built around conversation, personalization and intelligent content guidance.

Expanding the world of free streaming

Free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) remains one of the fastest-growing segments of the entertainment industry, and TiVo Channels continues to expand to meet growing consumer demand.

At IFA, we highlighted significant additions to the TiVo Channels ecosystem, including hundreds of new global and local FAST channels. We also introduced an enhanced viewing experience featuring a redesigned program guide, faster channel navigation tools and personalized content recommendations designed to help viewers quickly find relevant programming.

These enhancements support our ongoing goal of making quality free content easier to discover while creating additional audience and monetization opportunities for content partners.

Bridging broadcast and streaming

As viewing habits continue to evolve, consumers increasingly expect seamless access to content regardless of how it is delivered.

At IFA, we demonstrated new DVB-I support within TiVo OS, enabling viewers to access broadcast television over broadband connections while simplifying the discovery and viewing experience. By helping bridge traditional broadcast television and next-generation IP-delivered services, TiVo OS makes it easier for consumers to access local content without the complexity often associated with underlying delivery technologies.

Turning television into an interactive experience

Another standout demonstration came through our partnership with IRCODE, which combines AI and computer vision technologies to recognize content displayed on screen and enable real-time viewer interaction.

These capabilities open the door to a new generation of commerce, advertising, companion content and engagement experiences. The television screen is rapidly evolving beyond passive viewing, creating exciting opportunities for both consumers and industry partners.

Delivering greater choice and flexibility for partners

As one of the industry’s leading independent TV platforms, TiVo OS continues to provide manufacturers and content partners with flexibility, ownership, and control over their customer experiences.

At IFA, we also introduced significant platform optimizations that reduce memory requirements and enable deployment on lower-cost hardware configurations. These enhancements help manufacturers manage costs while maintaining a premium entertainment experience for consumers.

Welcoming new leadership for the next phase of growth

IFA also marked an important milestone for the TiVo business with the announcement that Tal Bone has joined as senior vice president and general manager of TiVo OS. Bringing extensive experience in global smart TV platforms and connected entertainment, Tal will help guide the next phase of growth as TiVo OS continues expanding across Europe and global markets.

One ecosystem, many experiences

While TiVo was a focal point at this year’s event, IFA also provided an opportunity to showcase the broader Xperi ecosystem and how our technologies work together to create more connected entertainment experiences.

From TiVo content discovery and monetization solutions to DTS immersive audio technologies, HD Radio in-vehicle entertainment experiences and IMAX Enhanced premium home entertainment, Xperi’s portfolio is designed to connect content, technology, data and monetization across the home, the car and beyond.

Thank you to the customers, partners, media and employees who visited us in Berlin. We look forward to continuing the conversations and building on the momentum from an exciting week at IFA 2026.
