Xperi’s Connected Entertainment Experiences Make a Powerful Case for the Future at CES 2024

January 16, 2024 Xperi

CES 2024 is an important industry event as technology companies unveil what their customers should expect to see roll out in the coming year. CES took place in early January and featured more than 3,500 exhibitors from 150 countries covering 41 technology categories as well as top tier and trade media, analysts and investors.

Xperi exhibited our inventive technologies across Las Vegas at the Park MGM hotel and the Las Vegas Convention Center. With more than 200 customer meetings taking place, nearly 40 pieces of news coverage and multiple award wins, it’s safe to say that Xperi shined bright among the Vegas lights.

Xperi chief revenue officer Matt Milne kicked off the event to all of our attendees. “At Xperi, our mission is to create extraordinary experiences for everyone, whenever and wherever they choose. Our best-in-class brands make this possible by working together to connect people to their favorite content at home, in the car and on the go. At CES, we demonstrated how the inventive technologies we develop integrate seamlessly with our partners’ products to elevate the audience’s experience in a way that feels more intuitive, immersive and personal,” Milne said.

We mean it when we say award-winning

Xperi again won multiple awards at CES across DTS and TiVo.

  • DTS AutoStage™ Video Service, Powered by TiVo™: 2024 Big Innovation Award | Automotive Category
  • TiVo OS: 2024 CES Innovation Award in Content & Entertainment Honoree
  • DTS Play-Fi: 2024 CES Innovation Award in Content & Entertainment Honoree

Twenty-five years in, TiVo continues to grow

Xperi made several key announcements, including growth of the TiVo OS ecosystem both in smart TVs, naming Konka as an OEM partner, and automobiles through our partnership with BMW. TiVo also announced the official rollout of TiVo Broadband, a new pay TV solution specifically tailored for service providers’ broadband consumers.

Speaking on the growth of our TiVo OS solutions across smart TV OEMs and automobile manufacturers, Xperi CEO Jon Kirchner said, “TiVo’s rich history with the industry allows us to take advantage of our extensive media consumption insights, content relationships and machine learning capabilities to develop personalized, enriched and integrated solutions that solve the needs of our partners and end users.”

DTS continues a sensational run

DTS AutoStage and HD Radio are expanding into more OEM vehicle models, including BMW, Ford and Harley Davidson, and DTS also demonstrated a gaming prototype, the next addition to the DTS AutoStage platform. Entertainment in the vehicle has transformed from simple audio capabilities to front and rear seat video, with the next frontier including gaming.

“The increasing adoption of our connected car technologies is validation that, as consumers increasingly view the vehicle as a ‘third space,’ they need more from their in-vehicle entertainment experience than a jumble of apps on their dash. They want experiences that are integrated, personalized and on-trend,” said Jeff Jury, general manager of connected car for Xperi.

DTS Play-Fi has expanded support into the smart TV ecosystem and over the past year has been deployed on AndroidTV, GoogleTV, VidaaOS, TitanOS and other widely used TV OEM operating systems and TV system-on-chip (SoC) manufacturers. Consumer electronics partner Xgimi announced the launch of Horizon Max, “the world’s first IMAX Enhanced smart projector” and demonstrated its dual light 2.0 capabilities.

The Xperi House — of the future

Visitors to our meeting locations were among the first to experience Xperi House, allowing visitors to virtually tour a truly connected home. Within Xperi House we are able to show how Xperi technologies bring epic entertainment experiences together at home and on the go by seamlessly integrating our best-in-class brands and inventive technologies with our partners’ own amazing products.

Sandra Carvalho, Xperi chief marketing officer, brought the brand’s proposition to life. “At CES, our tagline was the Power of Connected Entertainment — showcasing a new level of connected living. From the living room where entertainment comes to life with a user-centric, content-fist experience for smart TVs, integrating immersive sound for the ultimate entertainment experience, to the garage allowing you to take your favorite content on-the-go with a connected car that makes your ride more entertaining.”
