Xperi Earned a 95 out of 100 on HRC Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index

Xperi is a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and we are committed to creating an environment where our employees and business partners feel included and safe. As part of these efforts and support over the past 12 months, we’ve been working diligently to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation for their 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. We are proud to announce that we’ve achieved a score of 95 out of 100 for the 2023-2024 CEI.

Xperi’s score represents a marked increase from its initial participation in the survey from 85 points in 2021 to 95 points in 2023 through the expansion of health benefits from infertility treatments, gender-affirming care for medical procedures and associated travel expenses to expanded mental health benefits, demonstrating our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Xperi is currently working on compiling a Transgender Workplace Best Practices guide that will meet HRC criteria to ensure we achieve a 100 score next year and be officially designated as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.”

Our diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) work is ongoing and includes everything from improving our internal policies and procedures to honoring, bringing visibility to and truly valuing the creativity that is brought by having a more diverse workforce.

The CEI score of 95 represents not only a systemic change, but also a change that fosters an environment of increased psychological safety and inclusion for current and prospective employees,” said Brian Stachowiak, chair of the LGBTQ+ Pride @ Xperi employee resource group.

In a press release posted by HRC on Nov. 30, RaShawn “Shawnie” Hawkins, Human Rights Campaign senior director of workplace equality said, “For well over two decades, businesses have played an important role in furthering LGBTQ+ equality by centering employee needs and voices when it comes to workplace inclusion. While there is much more work to be done, year-over-year growth in CEI participation is evidence of a business community that recognizes the responsibility and value in upholding equity and inclusion. Our goal at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation is to work in a spirit of partnership with companies, providing educational resources and leading benchmarking, and collaborating on ways for businesses to support the LGBTQ+ community at a time when we face unprecedented legislative attacks, heightened anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and physical violence. The CEI is an ever-evolving tool – a blueprint that companies can use to show up more effectively in supporting their LGBTQ+ employees and their families.” 

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families;
  • Supporting an inclusive culture; and,
  • Corporate social responsibility.
