In mid-September the broadcast, media and entertainment industry returned to Amsterdam for IBC 2023. The Xperi booth focused on the power of connected entertainment, showing our award-winning TiVo OS platform, our IPTV and discovery solutions and, what was, in our eyes, the star of the show — a new BMW 5 series featuring the DTS AutoStage video service Powered by TiVo.
Over the course of four days, we met with new and prospective customers, partners, press and analysts to hear their ideas and discuss solutions to make connected entertainment better for consumers and customers.
We shared our knowledge and experience on three panels.
- Patrick Byrden, Xperi vice president of business development and strategy, Marion Ranchet, founder of the Local Act Consultancy, Ajey Anand from Norigin Media and Ali Diab from SEI Robotics discussed innovations in consumer electronics and their implications for content everywhere. Read more about the panel here.
- Scott Maddux, Xperi vice president of global content strategy and business development, shared his experience about best practices for FAST with Hayley Bull from 3Vision, Yoann Hinard from Witbe and Dennis McAllister from VITAC.
- Joe D’Angelo, Xperi senior vice president of global radio and digital audio, shared information on the continued growth of HD Radio and how broadcasters can take advantage of the analytics capabilities in the DTS AutoStage Broadcaster Portal.
Speaking of our DTS AutoStage Broadcaster Portal, we took home a Best of Show award from Radio World for it. Click here to learn more and sign up for the portal for free.
An area of excitement for many of our operator customers was our DTS Play-Fi technology. This was shown by our friends at Sagemcom who are now offering it through their Video Soundbox and speaker products.
Xperi also worked with partners from Fabric, Flomenco, EIDR, LMT, ITV, Paramount, FOX, IMDb and SMPTE on the IBC Accelerator Project for an Authenticated Data Specification, which will allow content owners to verify and authenticate their content data and imagery and publish it to third party sources.
Finally, Xperi released the inaugural version of the TiVo Video Trends Report: UK Edition: Embracing the Future Whilst Savouring the Past which you can download for free now.
