Xperi Inc. was listed on the New York Stock Exchange on Oct. 3. To commemorate the occasion, Xperi CEO Jon Kirchner rang the opening bell in front of more than one hundred Xperi employees, family members and partners from across the globe. Although it was drizzling in New York, the weather did not put a damper on the spirit of the attendees.

Festivities began with a welcome from Chris Taylor, NYSE Vice President of Listings, followed by remarks from Xperi CEO Jon Kirchner.

“We are at the beginning of an incredible chapter of Xperi’s history as we look to make huge advancements in the consumption of entertainment, build an independent media platform and ultimately change the world of automotive infotainment and safety,” said Kirchner. “It is an incredible opportunity to become a part of the history at the New York Stock Exchange as we continue to make a mark on the industry. We look forward to creating extraordinary experiences at home, on the go and everywhere you can find, watch and enjoy.”

Attendees made their way to the trading floor with wide eyes as Xperi’s branding was proudly displayed throughout the entire building. Xperi’s executive team stood alongside Jon on the podium as he rang the opening bell at 9:30 a.m. EDT.

The New York Stock Exchange is rich in history. In 1792, 24 brokers signed a document that started the Exchange and in the 230 years since, so much has changed in the city, the country and capital markets. One thing that has remained the same is the Exchange’s mission to partner with great companies. There are more than 2,400 companies from 46 countries around the world listed on NYSE—which equates to a market value of approximately $38 trillion.

“This is a once in a lifetime experience. When I was invited to attend the listing day celebration in New York, I nearly fell out of my chair,” said Samara Winterfeld, Xperi Vice President of Product Strategy. “Many of us who are here were talking about how this is a bucket list experience. Being at the New York Stock Exchange, in this very historic building, amongst all these giants of industry is one thing—but being here when your company is being listed is on a whole other level and it has been an incredible experience from top to bottom.”

The Xperi team then made its way to Times Square to see our brands light up the sky on an electronic billboard. TiVo, DTS, HD Radio and IMAX Enhanced shined brightly to tourists and onlookers across Times Square.
