Xperi Sponsors Girls in Tech to Empower Women in the Talent Pipeline

11월 22, 2022 Xperi

At Xperi, we believe supporting science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education is a pivotal part of addressing barriers to entry and diversifying and strengthening the tech talent pipeline.

We are committed to contributing to organizations that reduce the gender gap in entry-level tech jobs and beyond. Our talent acquisition team is focused on investing in strategic partnerships that advance diversity, equity and inclusion within Xperi and the tech industry more broadly. Whether by providing internships for students from minority backgrounds or by sponsoring targeted recruitment events to reach underrepresented groups, we are always looking for new ways to support and foster diverse talent.

As part of this effort, we are proud to announce we are sponsoring Girls in Tech—a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the gender gap in tech. Girls in Tech facilitates workshops, mentorship programs and a job board to help its more than 60,000 members grow professionally and personally. Women can access their incredible content and resources by becoming a member for free.

“I am excited that Xperi is helping talented young women on their journey to become strong leaders in tech who care about each other and their communities,” said Kat Stermer, Sr. Supervisor of Connected Radio Metadata and chair of Xperi’s Women in Technology employee resource group. “Being a good corporate citizen means lifting people up, not only within our walls, but in the communities where we live and work.”

Beyond our talent acquisition efforts, we are also committed to directing our community impact focus toward supporting STEAM education. As outlined in our 2021 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, one of our community impact goals is to increase financial contributions by 50 percent in support of STEAM education and workforce initiatives at the K-12, university and early-career levels by the end of 2022. Our ESG community impact pillar helps guide our charitable giving resources and enables our employees to make positive impacts on the world from the local to the global level.

We look forward to helping educate the next generation of female tech experts!
