Xperi Speaks on Reimagining the Workplace for Women in Tech at JobsForHer Conference

October 17, 2022 Xperi

Inclusion starts with recognizing equity and working towards it. At Xperi, we are committed to taking steps toward furthering inclusion.

Last month, Xperi had the opportunity to network with women in technology by partnering with JobsforHer as a sponsor of their virtual career fair and conference—HerRising 2022. JobsforHer is India’s leading women in technology community, supporting women to up-skill or restart with inclusive job opportunities.

We spoke with more than 3,000 women who attended the conference and conveyed our company values. Xperi leaders met women seeking support to restart their careers after taking a break and many wanted to learn from mentors.

Urvashi Verma, Xperi Sr. Manager of Talent Acquisition, was a part of a panel discussion on reimagining the workplace for women in technology alongside leaders from other tech and automotive companies including Bajaja Auto Ltd., Capgemini, Fidelity International and NextGen Healthcare India.

“Let us place talent before gender,” said Urvashi. “Let us share our success stories and inspire millions of others.”

“More tech professionals will be born if there is a need for it,” said Khushboo Bherwani, HR Manager, Bajaja Auto Ltd. “Create a hunger in women to take up tech roles.”

“Developing tech and leadership skills are necessary for an effective redemption of gender bias,” said Sreya Ghosh Oberoi, Diversity & Inclusion Lead – India, Capgemini.

We are continuing the initiative by organizing a follow-up event taking place in November called Meet-HER where Xperi leaders will connect with and interview female technologists in India.

Xperi aims to be an employer that is welcoming to all. We continue to support our employees through mentoring programs, working to remove unconscious biases, and valuing inclusion and diversity.
