Each fall, the Connected Car group gets together for an offsite near the Columbia, MD office, the official headquarters of the Connected Car group. This year’s event took place at the Inn at the Chesapeake Bay on Kent Island, Maryland.
Information Exchange & Cross-Vertical Alignment
The main purpose of the offsite is to facilitate, clarify and spur productive discussions among the various business groups, with the primary focus on helping the Connected Car group achieve its objectives.
The additional benefits are equally important, especially in the post-pandemic hybrid-work reality. The offsite allows teammates who interact regularly but rarely in person as well as colleagues who have only met via Zoom to get to know each other on a deeper level. There are a lot of discussions that take place outside the formal agenda which leads to closer connections.
The Crab Fest
After the 1.5 days of the official agenda are over, the team heads into a catered lunch where the wider Connected Car team and their family members are also welcome to attend. The Crab Fest marks a continuous tradition that has roots in the original iBiquity team (the original parent of HD Radio). Crabs are also a great Maryland tradition and a fun way to spend a few hours in the company of colleagues.
